Thanks, u/jozolab and u/FrontlineMist57 for the help! If this doesn't work for you then you're on your own since I don't even know how this all manages to work myself. (you may need to manually port forward 11000 UDP in your router) If everything was done correctly you should now have a functioning Nitrox server. Finally, open a terminal in the folder you just extracted and run the command sudo docker-compose up. (you can also change the timezone if you want) save the file and exit. Then edit the docker-compose.yml file in the folder you extracted to point to where Subnautica is installed. First, you need to download and extract the fork of Nitrox Server Launcher. Subnautica should now launch and have multiplayer working.Ĭreating a Nitrox server is far easier. Finally, launch Nitrox launcher through Steam and click Multiplayer. Then click multiplayer (nothing should happen this is fine) finally close Nitrox launcher, Explorer and go back to the terminal and press ctrl c. This will launch an explorer window, use it to find the Nitrox Launcher and run it. You now need to install Proton and run protontricks 264710 explorer. (I'm using Proton 7.0-1) This is where the weird part starts. Once it's added to steam you can go into properties and enable Proton. Once it is done extracting you can add the exe as a non-steam game. Then you can download and extract the Nitrox Launcher to wherever you want. The first thing you will want to do is install mono-complete. I got both the Nitrox launcher and Server working! All you need is The Nitrox Launcher (you need to run version 1.5.0.1), Mono, Proton Tricks, and this fork of Nitrox Server Docker. ![]()
